Chroma Graphics began as a prepress house and that expertise with color and prepress technology had carried over when we entered into the printing business over 15 years ago. Through the entire evolution of desktop publishing until today we have stayed at the forefront of prepress prowess in the region. We accept the widest range of files from clients in the area. Chroma Graphics utilizes dual workflows for MAC and PC initiated application files and also has an automated pdf workflow. It is important for us to stay up to date with all of the latest software on both platforms and carry the expertise to troubleshoot and correct your submitted files within all of them. We offer press fingerprinted contract proofs as well as low resolution digital dyluxes for our conventional printing projects.
Chroma Graphics has the two largest digital presses in the world, the Xerox® Igen 3 and Igen 4 EXP. Both presses are Igen 4 software compliant. The quality with both presses having this software makes them regarded as the highest quality and most reliable machines in the industry. The large size and throughput capabilities of these machines also allows us to produce your work more efficient than any other digital press which also enables us to price our digital work very competitively. Both digital presses can also produce on the widest range of stocks available going up to 18pts thick and stocks with heavy textured surfaces! We can also print on specialty types of substrates and pre-manufactured forms such as magnet and ID card forms, labels, CD and DVD labels and many other specialized products.
40″ Heidelberg perfecting printing presses in 4, 5 and 6 color with AQ coating is the main metal on our press room floor. As in the prepress area, we always seem to push the envelope with new technology, products and processes. Using innovative coatings, metallic inks with new properties, unique papers and combining different special effect features are common job specs in our pressroom.
Just as digital printing requires a different workflow, so does the binding for most digital print jobs to keep them cost effective for our clients. We have digital specific binding equipment such as saddlestitchers that can keep variably printed booklet jobs in correct sequence, folders that can lay down a letterpress quality perf and score and small punch machines for wire-o-bind, plasticoil and GBC bound booklets. Having this dual workflow allows us to be very competitive on digital projects and is necessary for jobs that have variable content throughout a multiple page layout.
We have a full range of commercial binding equipment inhouse at Chroma Graphics including cutting, folding, saddlestitching, perfect binding, shrinkwrapping, collating, drilling and lots of handwork capabilities. We have wafer sealing and spot fugitive capabilities on several of our binding lines. We also produce many perfect bind projects with the more durable PUR glue, case binding, diecutting, foil stamping and embossing, film laminating and a full range of specialty coating applications.
We introduced our inhouse data and mailing services over 15 years ago. Not only has this expertise helped our conventional print clients by having a seamless cradle to grave workflow to accommodate ridiculously fast turnarounds, but has been invaluable as we entered into the digital direct mail market a few years ago where that knowledge and expertise are merged in at the prepress part of the operation. Our data services include CASS, NCOA, deduping, merging, arranging for postal logistics and other customer specific list hygiene and data operations. The lettershop services would include inkjetting with up to 3 heads, inserting up to 9.5 x 12.5, wafer sealing, sorting, live stamp, label and post-it note auto applications.
Chroma Graphics has been instrumental in some of the most successful Web to Print programs in the country. Some of these programs entail backend fulfillment of customized printed pieces while others are for straight static fulfillment or customized pick and pack orders. We offer front end portals that range from simple off the shelf types to some of the most sophisticated customized front end web portals available today based on some very complex business rules that some of our clients demand.
We utilize bar code scan technology to enhance the accuracy of our conventional fulfillment services and we routinely handle complex and challenging kitting fulfillment and distribution projects. We have multiple computer terminals for both Fedex and UPS and both freight companies have daily pickups on site. For our non-domestic delivery destinations we also have accounts setup with several well-known freight forwarders.
